Sceptre acquires future proofing for thinkers

Sceptre has acquired a new book by Central St. Martins lecturer and artist Rod Judkins, author of the internationally successful The Art of Creative Thinking. Drummond Moir, Associate Publisher at Sceptre, acquired World Rights to the title from Jonathan Conway at Jonathan Conway Literary Agency.

Ideas are your only Currency is about future-proofing yourself. Judkins was inspired to write it after one of his students at Central St Martin’s asked him, ‘What skills will I need to prosper in 5, 10 or 15 years’ time’? Judkins’ response was that in a world of change in which skills become instantly outdated, it is ideas that will last. His new book will feature 100 interactive chapters to inspire innovative thinking that can be applied to any discipline, and promises to be both fun and indispensable for anyone who wants to think and live more creatively.

Sceptre published The Art of Creative Thinking in 2015 to great international success. The UK edition has now sold over 60,000 copies, and foreign rights have sold in 12 territories: Russian (Azbooka-Atticus), Portuguese (Bertrand Editora), Simplified Chinese (China Renmin University Press) Japanese (Filmart Sha), Arabic (Jarir), Korean (Wisdom House), Marathi (Mehta), Turkish (Pegasus), Thai (WeLearn), Indonesian (Pustaka Pelajar) as well as in Brazil (Rocco) and the US (Penguin). The book has also been reprinted multiple times in India.
