Congratulations to Patrick Kingsley on his appointment as The New York Times’ Continental Europe Editor. An extract from the paper’s announcement reads:

As the Jerusalem bureau chief, Patrick Kingsley has guided us through a pivotal time in the Middle East, with patient leadership, journalistic drive, and seemingly endless energy. Now, we are thrilled to announce a significant new chapter for Patrick, who later this year will take on the role of Continental Europe Editor. 

In this position, he will be at the forefront of our coverage across a vital region, focusing on news, analysis, and enterprise from our bureaus in Rome, Madrid, Berlin and Paris. As a correspondent, Patrick has been a pioneer in our push to reinvent our journalism, whether it is live, explanatory, visuals or video, while also producing the signature dispatches, enterprise and investigations at the core of what we do internationally.
