Henry Hemming wins HWA Gold Crown Award for Non-Fiction

Congratulations to Henry Hemming on being awarded the Historical Writers' Association's (HWA's) Gold Crown Award for Non-Fiction. Henry's book Four Shots in the Night: A True Story of Stakeknife, Murder and Justice in Northern Ireland (Quercus UK / Public Affairs US) was chosen from an exceptional shortlist of six books, itself compiled from the over one hundred titles initially submitted for the prize.
The judging panel said of Henry's book: “An even-handed and scrupulous uncovering of the true scale of British intelligence operations in Northern Ireland from the start of the Troubles to the Good Friday Agreement. The all-too human stories — on both sides — highlight the moral dilemmas inherent in the search for peace. Reads like a thriller!”
