Melissa Lane invited to give Carlyle Lectures at the University of Oxford

Melissa Lane, Class of 1943 Professor of Politics, Princeton University, and author of books including Greek and Roman Political Ideas: A Pelican Introduction (Pelican / Penguin UK), has been invited to give the prestigious Carlyle Lectures at the University of Oxford.
The theme of the six-week lecture series is ‘Constitutions before Constitutionalism: Classical Greek Ideas of Office and Rule.’ The six individual lectures are:
Lecture One: Office and Anarchy
Lecture Two: Office and Accountability
Lecture Three: Ruling and Being Ruled
Lecture Four: Rule, Law, and Liberty
Lecture Five: Office and Rule in Constitutional Change
Lecture Six: The Purposes of Office and Rule
